In Fiore' s installation for Pond, Fiore's pastiche of large and small format photographic prints depict a gooey, goopy wonderland landscapes. Evoking
simultaneous sensations of pleasure & delight, disgust & fear, these images of the uncanny explore the relationship between a child's fantasies and the adult's dread of the abject.
Terry Mason's
sculpture + digital video installation, the viewer is invited to participate by sitting at a school desk and peer into the video screen inside a giant walnut that clamps over his/her head. The absurdity of the piece from the perspective of the participant and the audience recreates the absurdity of life itself, and the impossibility ofknowing what is going 'inside another's head.'
