It Can Change presents Face to Face with Familiar Situation

It Can Change is an exhibitions project which attempts to use unorthodox spaces and techniques for the presentation of art work and events. Some previous shows have taken place in a vacant apartment, in a stairwell and a door, a barbecue, and outside of F.A.O. Schwartz.

For our current exhibition, Pond will become the headquarters for our particular experiment, some special operations, for the discovery of new ways to function in a familiar situation. As a point of participation, each artist has been asked to collaborate with us in order to produce an event or action.

These events will take place in and around the gallery.

The exhibition is designed so that objects can either be re-located or adapted to new functions in order to accommodate the events which will be taking place. For the gallery exhibition, the artists gave us a small building made of Legos, a drawing of a conversation between several creatures, some paintings with stuffed animals and rubber masks, a children's cooking show, and a bright suitcase TV sculpture with sound.

In addition, special events include a play, a scar-touching event, a serving of special empanadas, a different show for two days, the destruction of a sculpture, concerts and dance music. As these events provide
