Transplant 2005 is a cultural exchange between United States and Serbian experimental artists that aims to inspire cross-cultural pollination of ideas and practices for both artists and art institutions alike. The exchange involves US-based new media pioneers who will present workshops for local audiences and present their work at Dis-patch (Sept 25-Oct 9), an annual
festival that showcases the work of pioneers of international significance in electronic music and new media through live concert/presentations, workshops, panel discussions, radio presence, and more. Due to cultural isolation fostered in the preceding decades, the artistic community in Belgrade has lacked exposure to international developments in creative and technical possibilities. Dis-patch aims redress this lack of communication by offering the opportunity for communication between regional and international audiences.
Transplant is made possible by the Trust for Mutual Understanding
